Euphonic : Close to My Heart' aims to promote the highest levels of musical event and artistic integrity through the performance of music.
EVENT CONCEPT
Nepali music for a larger period of time has been defined by the folk songs in ‘Jhyaurey’ rhythm. It was only after the overthrow of Rana Regime which led to opening of state radio station Radio Nepal and introduction of music of other genres of music from outside world that started the genre adhunik songs, which had a hint of melancholy. While the folk songs have their own importance and popularity, it’s the adhunik songs of the 1950s and later that have stayed timeless classic. The songs of Narayan Gopal, Amber Gurung and Gopal Yonjan are still favourite pieces for the Nepali people of all generations for all occasions.
Keeping that in mind, Solangture, Guthi Australia and Pokhara Samaj Australia are organizing another musical program called 'EUPHONIC : CLOSE TO MY HEART', to refresh our memories with these modern songs that have created a long lasting impression in our heart.
The idea behind 'EUPHONIC : CLOSE TO MY HEART' is not just conducting a musical performance but to tell the stories behind the songs and their musical journey. Majority of the songs will be improvised and rearranged without losing its original charm. Led by popular singer Bivek Shrestha, this one of a kind event will have presentations and song performance by team of young musicians / singers.
Bivek Shrestha is the front man of well-known band Kandara.
Shrestha’s experience of working and collaborating with all of the generations is a crucial step for this event. It is important to understand both the adhunik genre and current trend to take the event forward as the team will consist of singers from current generations working on the adhunik genre. With Bivek Shrestha’s leadership, the event will achieve a new height, bringing together various musical performers and songs.
The two hours show will cover the very best of legends’ timeless classics.
